Position Title: Domestic Violence Case Manager

Compensation: Starting at $25 per hour

Status: Part time/20 hours a week

The Domestic Violence Case Manager will provide Case Management services at the Nisa Home and Nisa Transitional Homes, the agency’s domestic violence safe homes. This position is responsible for providing weekly meetings with each client to further the progress of their case and ensuring that their stay at safe homes is a successful one.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Respond to helpline callers, provide crisis counseling, and referrals to appropriate resources.
  • Conduct initial client assessment and intake.
  • Provide strong case plans for each client based on agreed goals, with a clear understanding on what success will look like for the client.
  • Client Advocacy: phone calls, coordination of services on behalf of the clients.
  • Attend weekly safe house staff and client meetings.
  • Review cases with supervisor and domestic violence response team as needed.
  • Provide transportation support based on client needs.

Qualifications & Competencies: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Professional experience in the human services or related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years working with issues of Domestic Violence and a record of successfully facilitating change and/or innovation in the Domestic Violence or related field.
  • Knowledge of violence dynamics and Alameda County resources for homeless and other underserved populations.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as a team, being an effective and collaborative leader.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Dependable automobile with valid driver’s license and current insurance.
  • Domestic Violence Counselor Certification or willing to obtain shortly after hire.
